Professor Salat Day Clinic of Hematology and Oncology

In 2000, Christoph Salat established his own specialized clinic and day unit for patients with hematologic malignancies and other cancers, as a complement to the oncology department of the Red Cross Hospital.

The clinic is equipped with modern technology, and its highly qualified specialists detect oncologic diseases at early stages and provide the necessary treatment. The clinic’s guiding principle is a personalized approach, with therapy tailored to each patient’s individual situation. Professor Christoph Salat has assembled an excellent team of physicians and nurses.

The clinic treats the following oncologic diseases:

  • Leukemia (acute and chronic forms)
  • Lymphomas
  • Plasmacytomas (plasma-cell tumors)
  • Lung cancer
  • Ovarian, uterine, and breast cancer
  • Pancreatic and gastrointestinal cancers
  • Head and neck cancers

The clinic provides conventional chemotherapy as well as bone marrow transplantation (hematopoietic stem cell transplantation). Each patient receives an individualized multimodal treatment plan. Collaboration with a nuclear medicine department enables the use of radioimmunotherapy as a treatment option.

In addition to inpatient care, the clinic operates a day unit for outpatient treatment. Psychological support is available for patients and their families.
